Dr Stephen Smith BDS, M Dent Sci, FDS RCSEd, FDS, FDS (Rest. Dent) RCS (Eng.) MRD RCS is one of the most highly qualified dentists in the country — a specialist in restorative dentistry, endodontics, periodontology and prosthodontics.
Stephen is presently a member of the senior teaching staff and consultant in restorative dentistry of the Department of Prosthodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute and Hospital, London.
He has a masters degree in periodontics and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Oral Medicine and Periodontics and the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine. He has a Membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Glasgow in Prosthodontics and the Intercollegiate Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry.
He enjoys an active life outside dentistry, trying to offset his carbon footprint by either running or cycling where possible around London. He is an expert scuba diver, skydiver and skier, and is always up for trying anything else that makes him feel alive.
Dr Anatis Sahafi DDS has a special interest in orthodontics (braces, adjustment of teeth) and offers her patients treatment with Invisalign. She also treats TMJ disorders (problems with the jaw and grinding teeth) and is experienced in general dentistry.
She enjoys treating children and working with parents to improve their children’s oral and general health. It is very important to her that her team works in a friendly and calm environment, where you, the patient, are relaxed, pain free and well taken care of.
Anna has taken several postgraduate courses in aesthetic cosmetic dentistry and offers her patients sound advice on improving their smiles.
She qualified from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden in 2002. She trained for a year in a specialist dental practice in Sweden, where she participated in postgraduate education in oral surgery, before moving to London in 2003. As a student Anna started her Ph.D. at the Department of Oral Biochemistry and received several scholarships.
Georgina Cooper BDS (Hons) MFDS RCS Eng MSc - Dentist
Georgina Cooper has a range of hospital and practice based experience. It is important to her to work in a calm and friendly environment where you are well taken care of, and her aim is to provide the highest quality dental care.
Since qualifying from St Bart’s and The Royal London Dental School in 2004, Georgina remains committed to furthering her skills and keeping up to date with latest techniques. She took postgraduate examinations to gain Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons (MFDS) at the Royal College of Surgeons in 2007, and gained a training position at the Eastman Dental Institute in London in the division of Restorative Dentistry. She then completed a Master’s Degree in Conservative Dentistry awarded by the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London in 2009. This specialty training encompassed an in depth study and clinical experience of preventative dentistry, root canal fillings, aesthetic restorative procedures using fillings, crowns and bridges, and the placement and restoration of dental implants to replace missing teeth. Georgina has an artistic eye for transforming smiles, and can discuss your treatment options and then individually personalise them to improve your smile. She also offers Invisalign, the very popular clear braces used to straighten teeth.
Georgina is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons postgraduate exam (MJDF) and teaches Restorative Dentistry to final year Undergraduate students at St Thomas’ Hospital Dental Institute. Outside of dentistry, she is a keen sports player and has run the London Marathon. She has an active social life and enjoys travel with her husband Nick.
Tanya van der Merwe RDN
Tanya is highly experienced in dental nursing, being qualified for 17 years, fully registered with the GDC and having worked closely with Stephen Smith for almost 6 years. Originally from South-Africa, she is bilingual in Afrikaans and English.
Tanya's role is to ensure that the highest possible standard of dental nursing care is achieved and adhered to at all times, and to ensure that patients are as comfortable and relaxed as possible whilst assisting Stephen Smith and other associates.
She also takes care of the smooth daily running of all the clinical aspects of Oralon. She has a friendly and outgoing nature that ensures the patients are put at ease. She enjoys meeting our patients and particularly seeing the change we make to people's lives in terms of their increased personal confidence following treatment.
She is particularly interested in cosmetic and implant dentistry.
Tanya also enjoys spending time with friends; they often go away to music festivals together where they enjoy camping and sitting outside listening to good music. Her other interests are art and herpetology.
